
Hillcrest
is one of only a few nursing homes that maintains an in-house
pharmacy and employs a
full-time pharmacist. This unique service is a crucial
link in the care we provide at Hillcrest.
In order to offer this valuable service, Hillcrest does
not participate in drug plans
or accept drug cards. In some cases, residents and families
are able to submit
their medication bill to their insurance company for part
or full reimbursement.
Our billing and insurance office can assist families in this
process but is not
responsible for submitting bills on behalf of private
pay residents. Enclosed in your
monthly statement is a copy of all pharmacy charges,
hand-stamped by our
licensed pharmacist.
Medications
are included for those residents covered under Medicare
Part A. Our billing department files with Medicare
and the secondary insurance companies on behalf of these
residents.
The Hillcrest Care Planning Team must approve self-administration
of medications.
